Mipso, the third ensemble to participate in Opening Nights Performing Arts and Leon County Schools’ North Florida School Tour presented residencies and performances for one week throughout Leon County and surrounding. Mipso and Opening Nights Performing Arts worked together to create specialized programming for several schools in Leon county, which included bluegrass/string band history, an introduction to harmony singing, and a primer on songwriting.
Roomful of Teeth
Dr. Jones and Prof. Trujillo’s students enjoyed an intimate presentation by the Grammy-awarding winning group, Roomful of Teeth, for a hour in the Longmire Recital Hall the day of their live performance in Opperman Music Hall.

Joey Alexander Trio hosted an open rehearsal the day of their show in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall followed by a Q&A with Joey, Daniel Chmielinski (bass) and Ulysses Owens Jr. (drums) which was lead by Chris Heacox.

Twyla Tharp Dance Company
Our School of Dance majors twirled the afternoon away in TWO elite workshops with the Twyla Tharp Dance Company’s dancers Matthew Dibble and Kaitlyn Gilliland the day after the public performance.

Pablo Sáinz Villegas
Spanish guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas conducted a two hour master class with College of Music guitar students (who study under Bruce Holzman) in Dohnanyi Recital Hall. One of Holzman’s students performed several numbers with Pablo during his public ONPA performance.
For over three decades, Anne-Sohpie Mutter has been on the most acclaimed violin players of all time. Mutter and Lambert Orkis shared their talents and tricks of the trade with FSU College of Music students and young Tallahassee area violin players.
The Wayne Shorter Quartet hosted an opened rehearsal before the show. After the rehearsal, Wayne Shorter and his quartet held a Q&A with College of Music students.
