Pianist Simone Dinnerstein and dancers are ready to rock Bach at Opening Nights


Classical concert pianist Simone Dinnerstein usually has the stage to herself when she performs J.S. Bach’s immortal “Goldberg Variations” — and no one else alive can play Bach’s brilliant showpiece quite like Dinnerstein.

When Dinnerstein returns to Opening Nights this weekend at Florida State, the pianist will have plenty of company onstage when she and Pam Tanowitz Dance present “New Work for Goldberg Variations.” Dinnerstein will play Bach’s keyboard masterwork live while seven dancers swirl and twirl around her grand piano.
