Tartan Terrors

The Tartan Terrors were in full force when they visited Tallahassee in April. Before their public performance, members of the group visited Apalachee Tapestry School of the Arts to play their music, danced and taught the students about different instruments from around the world. They introduced them to the history behind wearing kilts, from the family history behind the patterns to how they were used in the past vs. how they are worn today.

“When different musical groups and artists come to the school it really opens up an opportunity for me to be creative with the kids on a different level. The artists Opening Nights bring into our school paves the way for even more creative, teachable moments that we can all relate and connect to, which is something I feel is very important to the artistic process.” – Ashley Chandler, Arts Teacher at ATMSA
