Opening Nights at Florida State University hosted Leon County middle school students for a Sons of Mystro performance on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 10:30 am in FSU’s Opperman Music Hall. Students from Griffin Middle School, Fairview Middle School and Fort Braden School as well as Arts magnet students from Augusta Raa Middle School had the opportunity to see a live performance by south Florida violinists Malcolm and Umoja. The dynamic sibling duo blend genres of popular music for a unique instrumental experience. Mentored by genre-breaking violin/viola group, Black Violin, Sons of Mystro put on a lively show that entertained the students. The Sons of Mystro shared positive and inspiring messages with the students about “believing in yourself” and “being your own biggest fan.”
